Tips on Making Your Baseball Cap Look Worn

A baseball cap looks best when it is tattered, used and bent, not like most things. It is shown that often wearing cap is considered to be the symbol of true baseball fan. When you buy a new cap it looks, new, still unworn and uncool and this becomes a problem. Here are some suggestions to assist you in achieving a worn out look that you will love for sure:

Pick a cap that is one size too large for your head. How come? Not because you desire you head to appear larger than it is, or that you want to cause it to drop off each time you see a baseball on the ground. The reason is that you are going to do something to it that will shrink it somewhat. You need to buy a hat that is a little big, so that after you break it in you will be able to wear it.

Heat a bowl of water to a temperature that won't damage the hat, and then stick the cap into the water. This will make the fabric softer and make it simpler to mold to your desired shape.

Another worthwhile option is to wash it in the dishwasher or washing machine. Avoid putting the cap through too many wash cycles because it may fall apart. Let it dry a bit then your head is where it should be placed. It's OK if your face is splashed - go ahead & put it on. Wearing your cap when in the shower will also work. In the summer when it is hot and you are sweating a lot, you should wear it all the time. Molding it will be easier as the moisture seeps into the fabric. Is getting your head wet something you don't like? Then, inside the cap you should place an object that is approximately the size and shape of your head.

The good thing about this cap is it will shrink when it dries and take the shape of the thing occupying it. Instead of getting your hat wet, you can try to "rough" it slightly. It is so durable that you can tie it in a bundle, throw it against the wall, use it as a pet toy, or any other wild things you can imagine. Do be careful not to destroy your hat or you will need to buy another one. Fray the edges. If you don't want to get the cap dirty, then just cut it on the fringes. Make a cap look old by slitting the cap, pulling out the mesh, and sewing up the hole. If you are not careful with this, you may end up completely destroying it, though.
